Strait of Hormuz Toll and Transit Fee Calculation System

Strait of Hormuz Toll Calculator

Hormuz Status RESTRICTED as of May 24, 2026

This toll calculator is deliberately configurable and is based on charging dimensions commonly used by major canals: vessel type, fixed size category, billable unit, ballast/laden status, dangerous cargo, container mix, and operational surcharges. It aims to closely estimate official Strait of Hormuz transit fees.

What this calculator supports
Ship types: crude tanker, product tanker, chemical tanker, LNG, LPG, container, dry bulk, general cargo, Ro-Ro, vehicle carrier, cruise, floating units, small craft.
Billing bases: canal billing tonnage, DWT, cargo cubic metres, TEU, displacement, passenger count, and length-band pricing.
Operational modifiers: ballast discount, dangerous cargo, priority transit, war-risk, tug assist, on-deck containers, and eco-vessel rebate.
Dimension triggers: LOA, beam, and draft can drive size class and oversize surcharges.
Multi-currency: view estimates in USD, EUR, or GBP. Rates are indicative only.
Comparison mode: compare the same vessel under different operational conditions side by side.
Default scenario

The form loads with a large crude tanker profile so you can test the calculator immediately. Change the ship type and capacity fields to see the billing basis switch in practice.

Note

In the future, you may feed these values from AIS + ship particulars rather than manual entry: MMSI/IMO lookup, vessel type, LOA, beam, draft, GT/NT, DWT, cargo class, TEU capacity, and live transit status.
